The White Water Duck Race
After some two years of planning and preparation, the White Water Duck Race was finally held on Sunday September 4th at the Lee Valley White Water Centre. Built for the 2012 London Olympics, the Centre is the best place in the world for white water rafting, canoeing and kayaking - not to mention Duck Races.
2000 bright yellow ducks, all individually numbered, were released into the swirling torrents just after 8:00 pm. The winning duck, number 1009, crossed the finishing line just three minutes and twenty seconds later. Ticket number 1009 in each race series (A and B) therefore wins John Lewis Vouchers to the value of £250.00!

A huge Thank You to all of the charities who took up the chance to sell tickets to raise funds for themselves.
Thanks also to everyone who supported us and them by buying tickets, to everyone who came along to watch and especially to the Lee Valley White Water Centre, without whose help and support this event would never have been possible.
Overall, this event has raised some £6,000.00 for the charities who sold tickets and for other Rotary supported charities and good causes.
