Youth Activities

Supporting & Encouraging Young People

Amwell Rotarians believe that young people should be encouraged to grow and develop - in order that they are able to reach their full potential and thus become responsible and caring members of their local communities. As a Rotary Club, we support various initiatives in pursuit of this ideal. On this page you will find a few brief details that outline some of the recent projects that we have undertaken.

Rotary Youth Leadership Awards

Amwell Rotary Club have sponsored various teenagers and young adults to attend Youth Leadership training weekends held in conjunction with the RAF.

An extremely demanding schedule is arranged with all of the participants being stretched to their maximum potential both mentally and physically.

Many candidates have told us afterwards that they wondered what on Earth they had managed to get themselves into - but every single one has also gone on to say how much they valued the course and how much it meant to them in terms of personal development.

Young Enterprise

Individual Amwell Rotarians assist with this programme at a couple of local schools.

Pupils set up their own business enterprises and are then taught good business practice by a Rotary Club mentor/advisor.

Youth Bursaries

We have awarded small bursaries to local youngsters who have shown particular potential or ability in fields such as sport or music.
